Israel's war with Hamas and Hizzbolah is being viewed with great alarm by the world and by many well-intentioned Christians. Most will point to the tinder box that is the Middle East with fear that from this new war will be kindled World War III. They are right, but not for the reasons they think.
Israel is not merely seeking to rescue two of her soldiers. She is flexing her muscle to remind her enemies of her immense military strength. This will serve Israel well in the coming days. Those Islamic countries to her south and east remember all too well the very large sting little Israel can inflict. They will willingly war no more against Israel nor will they support those who do so. This lesson is remembered by Syria as well, but Syria will gain confidence against Israel as her alliance with Iran and eventually Iraq and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) grows stronger. In the past we have discussed the Islamic tradition to make peace with one's enemies until such time as they are strong enough to defeat them. Israel cannot be defeated now and her demonstration of this in Lebanon is a sobering reality to her enemies. They will promise peace conditionally based on the formation of a Palestinian state. In this they will find a victory and buy time to plot Israel's destruction and world domination.
There will still be regional wars as the antichrist rises to power and consolidates his rule or influence with the SCO member and "observer" nations. Israel will have her peace, but only for 3.5 years. It was brought to my attention, by a brother, that Israel's Prime Minister Olmert has actually stated that Israel seeks "a covenant of peace" with her enemies. Israel will indeed feel they have accomplished such, but they will not realize that their strength will be taken from them for their rebellion against the covenant. Just when Israel believes they are living in peace and safety they will awaken to realize they have entered a covenant with death and have forsaken their covenant with God!
It is important that you read your Bible carefully. We potentially are already well within the last decade of this age. Read the Daily Watches I have written in the past. Within them you will see the biblical end-time prophecies taking shape via present time world events. Israel has already committed herself to withdrawal from her inheritance. She is eager to take any and all olive branches offered to her. It is in this eagerness that Islam will trap her. Israel's defeat is certain once Islam can get her to rebel against the Abrahamic covenant. Whether Islam understands this is not relevant. Satan understands it all too well. A state of Palestine on Israel's inheritance will infuriate God. God will call Michael from his post as Israel's guardian and leave her vulnerable and exposed before her enemies. Michael stands in the way of both Satan and his son, the man of lawlessness! For the last 3.5 years of this age no nation will be more wretched, despised, shamed and desolate than Israel. But on the last day of this age, and the first day of the next, Israel will arise strong and triumphant as her savior destroys all opposed to her. Michael will return as well and once again guard Israel.
The war in Lebanon will bring about fast changes in the Middle East. This war will bring peace, in the world's eyes, and the world will rejoice. A savior, not of God, will rise among Israel's enemies. Peace will drip like honey from his lips even as his limbs wage war! He will craft alliances with the willing and the fearful. The defiant he will beat into submission. He will bring for Islam the appeal and promise of an age of enlightenment. Millions will flock to him. He will offer Israel and the nations to her south the olive branch, but together with the hordes of Gog he will scheme to bring them under his dominion. Indeed, the entire world will swoon with his promises of peace and safety. They will honor him above all others as he crafts empire out of factional and warring nations. They will worship him as he deceives them through his demonstrations of miracles that he is no mere mortal. He will be a god above all others to the hordes of the blind when he saves the world from the economic destruction of his own making. And he will deceive even some of the elect and many will fall from the faith even as they receive him as the messiah. They will not have the mental faculty nor the spiritual eyes to see that he is the spawn of Satan himself! Together they will wage war against the body of Christ. Truth will be turned upside down as true believers will be branded as extremists and radicals and they will be hunted as dangerous criminals.
Yes, the little war in Lebanon will bring peace and it will precipitate and accelerate the events that will ultimately unleash the judgments of desolation upon the earth as decreed by God through his prophets.
Watch for strange and wonderful proposals coming from unlikely places. Watch Israel help to establish a state of Palestine upon her own beloved inheritance. Watch as this covenant with death is heralded throughout the world as one of the greatest historic events of modern times. Watch as small wars erupt within Islam. Watch as tensions grow between north and south, between Shiites and Sunnis. Watch as Israel prospers in trade with her former enemies. Watch as Shiites, Gog and their unholy alliance led by the false messiah and his general sweep across Israel to meet the Sunnis of the south in battle. Watch Israel wither and nearly die as her people are oppressed, captured, killed or enslaved. Watch the Egyptian alliance fall under the onslaught of the antichrist.
