BULLIES AND A RED HEIFER

By Randy Loudenslager

The U.S., U.N., E.U. and Russia have made a joint statement on their position on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. Their message was loud and clear: Israel withdraw from Palestinian territory! The joint statement can be best summed up by the comments made by U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan while in Madrid, "The whole world is demanding that Israel withdraw. I don't think the whole world, including the friends of the Israeli people and government, can be wrong."

Meanwhile, the loudest proponent for a Palestinian state in the Bush administration, Colin Powell, is about to try his hand at bullying Israel while pacifying Arafat. Due to start talks with leaders tomorrow he comes with President Bush's command to withdraw immediately.

Although Israeli Defense Forces have pulled out of two Palestinian cities they appear defiant against their American ally and the world. Presently Israel is making new incursions into other West Bank cities and massing troops outside of the Gaza Strip for possible military operations.

Israel is doing the right thing. She must defy her enemies, her allies and even her friends. She must obey God! What will happen to Israel after military operations have concluded? She will once again try the negotiating table. Only now the world is steeled against her in an unprecedented and menacing unity. The world has fixed its gaze on the tiny nation of Israel, they are not asking Israel to comply, they are demanding it. To support their demands some circles suggest sending third party troops to intervene, a notion that is gaining momentum. Some nations such as England have volunteered their troops for the job. Israel has emphatically said no to foreign troops on her soil and has had America's UN veto power to thank. How long will America veto these measures considering her swift change in policy towards Israel?

As the world grows angrier with God's people a wonderful thing has happened in Israel. It has been revealed that a month ago a red heifer was born in Israel. Much has been made about the red heifer in Texas and for good reason, but to have a red heifer born in Israel is a wonderful sign from our God.

Numbers 19 describes the requirement of God's law of a red heifer. The heifer is to be without defect or blemish and have never been put under the yoke. In burning the heifer in sacrifice the ashes are to be used in water to make the 'water of cleansing.' This water is to be used for the purification of sin. Jewish tradition teaches that the very rare red heifer is needed for the purifying of the last temple. The tradition further teaches that the red heifer would herald the coming of the Messianic age. Two rabbis inspected the red heifer on a farm in southern Israel and concluded that the heifer was kosher, meeting the requirements of the law.

For those who will accept it this is another sign of the second coming of Jesus Christ. The plans for the prophesied temple are ready. The implements for sacrifice and now the essential red heifer are also ready. What an exciting time to be a believer and see God's promises come true. Now we wait. We wait for the right mix of events, as only God could arrange, to present the opportunity for the temple itself to be built. When that temple is built it is time to figuratively pack your bags because soon afterward the antichrist, supported by Satan, will stop the daily sacrifice and present himself as if he were Jesus Christ in that temple. It won't be long after that (3 1/2 years) Jesus himself conquers the world and sets up his throne in the temple and rules from Mount Zion!
