LEADERS OUT OF SYNC WITH THE PEOPLE
By Randy Loudenslager
Despite the efforts of the liberal media in Israel the people clearly are not thinking in terms of a Palestinian state carved from Israel's land. To the contrary, polls are running a solid majority in favor of transferring all people who will not recognize Israel's right to the land. The term transfer as used in Israel means to deport people out of Israel. The hottest web debates and talk shows in Israel are practically obsessed with the topic and yet few media sources or the government will acknowledge what the majority of Israelis see as the only solution. The majority doesn't even debate whether or not to transfer Palestinians and others but only to what extent transfer should take place.
While the world's governments and state influenced or mainstream news organizations work busily at persuading their populations that the issues are about releasing Arafat from Ramallah or that Israel should except the Saudis latest land for peace proposal, Jews are wondering why the representatives they elected to the government are not addressing Israel's security instead of giving away her settlements and land.
The United States is applying crushing diplomatic pressure on the Arabs attending the summit in Beirut and Israel. Washington has grown to be the loudest proponent of a Palestinian state derived from land that the average Israeli doesn't want to give away. They swept Ariel Sharon into power for the express purpose of providing the state of Israel with security from her enemies. They elected him for this job because he promised to make security his primary focus and because they trusted that his Likud party would stand behind their staunch policy of no Palestinian state.
Israel has lost touch with God. Not Israel the people as much as Israel's shepherds, her leaders. Recent history has shown the hand of God protecting Israel against all odds just as in ancient times and yet they cower before the power of other nations who demand that Israel get over her humiliation at the hands of terrorists by not taking steps to defend herself.
The Bible gives insight into these times when it says in prophecy that Israel will become the scorn of the earth. At present she is the scorn of most. The scriptures also indicate that Israel's leaders will sell her out by making deals. Even the common religious Jew has enough sight to see the writing on the wall. God will punish all who divide up his land!
