Egypt Supports Israel Despite EU Support for Arafat
By Randy Loudenslager

Egypt, having viewed the evidence of Arafat enhanced terror and involvement in undermining the Egyptian government, has turned her back against Yassar Arafat and increased a dialogue of cooperation with Israel. This gives the United States the upper hand at a crucial time when the European Union decided to undermine the American/Israeli strategy of containing Arafat by throwing their support behind Arafat, giving him more freedom and yet another chance at peace.

The EU's justification appears to be in her demands of reparations from Israel for the damages to Palestinian infrastructure that the EU paid for. Israel has declined and reiterated that there is no room for discussing such demands in the climate of war thrust upon Israel by the Palestinian Intifada.

Egypt's change of heart is sure to not only upset the Europeans, but will infuriate the Iraq-Iran-Syria-Saudi Arabia Arab Bloc. This bloc, formed by radical Islamic states, was formed to resist President Bush's anti-terror coalition efforts. Mr. Bush has scored favorably in the more moderate Arab nations of Jordan, Turkey and Oman and now Egypt. This moderate bloc has tied their fortunes with Washington against terrorism with obvious implications against the radical bloc's history of supporting such activities.

In regards to end-time prophecy this event is a major indicator! Egypt is the king of the south found in Daniel 11. By making such a profound move in support of Israel and the U.S., Egypt has marked herself as an enemy in the eyes of radical Islamic forces. It will be a coalition headed by Egypt that will repeatedly challenge the king of the north, the antichrist. Defeating Egypt will be the antichrist's last military victory. The puzzle is becoming discernible! Egypt is mentioned in prophecy to actually repent after being opposed to Israel and God. She will actually set up an altar in one of her cities to God Almighty and set a monument on her border with Israel as a witness to the LORD Almighty ( Isaiah 19:16-25). God will acknowledge these efforts by not completely destroying Egypt when he returns. Are we seeing the prelude to such events in the making? Time will tell.
