New Superpower Makes Debut
By Randy Loudenslager

'Out with the old and in with the new' has taken on a literal meaning, this new year, for Europeans. European Union (EU) member states are trading their national currencies in for the new Euro-dollar, making it the common currency of the continent. Only Britain, Sweden and Denmark are holding fast to their national currencies. The dream of post-WWII European revisionists has been to see a united Europe. The Euro-dollar was believed to be the necessary mechanism to make a united Europe a reality. European leaders deny that they are forging a United States of Europe, even as they form a standing European military force and their increasingly powerful and centralized federal government works steadily to strip it's members of their sovereign rights.

Europe, by integrating it's individual currencies and economies into one super-state, has joined the superpower class of nations. Such notables as the United States and Russia have held this honor since WWII. Super-powers are not merely powerful nations, but nations or peoples grouped together that make profound and lasting impact on the politics of the entire world. Europe has all the right ingredients to become a superpower, immense wealth and the ability to generate more, a sophisticated nuclear arsenal , a space program, a common military or defense force, political maturity and the willingness to use political clout and leverage.

The European Union is, and always has been, pro-Palestinian in her politics. They finance Yassar Arafat's Palestinian Authority and by association the Intifada. We can expect to see the EU exert more pressure on Israel and break away from American dominance as Europe seeks to establish herself as a political force with worldwide reach. Is it any wonder that Russia is openly wooing Europe into security arrangements with her at the expense of America? In a world with three super-powers it becomes clear that two powers allied together will have sway over the third. This new order in the old world will greatly disrupt America's influence on world politics as she is forced to compete for the world's cooperation that she has enjoyed exclusively for the past two decades. A weakened America adds to Israel's peril, erodes her resolve before her enemies and darkens her hope in the LORD God Almighty. Israel's economy, largely based on tourism, has entered a major slump and so has exasperated an already wearying situation. Israel has become desperate for peace. To remove God's protection via the United States will push Israel into selling her birthright in the attempt to achieve what no one wants to give her, peace!
