Please examine the
scriptures provided from an objective point of view and without
preconceived notions as much as possible. Even if you end your
reading of this guide in disagreement with me, you will still
gain important insight from God.
If Satan knows the
Bible then why can't he change events, the outcome or himself?
This question appears to be difficult to answer, but it is not.
The typical answer given and taught by well meaning ministers
of God's word is as follows: Satan can only do what God
allows him to do.'
This answer is true, but only satisfies part of the question.
The real question is not how much Satan knows but how much does
he understand? You see without the Holy Spirit no one, not even
Satan, can understand the wisdom of the word. Satan has much
accumulated knowledge, but it is of little use without the wisdom
of the Holy Spirit. This is a lesson that would serve the Christian
well to understand.First we need an outline
of the last days. This outline will serve as our big picture.
Into this big picture we will place the details (sequence of
events). We must go to the Bible for our outline, just the same
as we go for the details.
OUTLINE:Our outline is comprised
of four major sections we will refer to as periods of time (the
scripture references that follow indicate these time periods
and only represent a portion of biblical references on the subjects).
1. Birth Pains Period:
This period of time is the staging area for the desolation period.
It is during this time that we see the antichrist begin his foray
into international politics. This period will start with Israel
entering a peace treaty with all of her present enemies.
(Matthew 24:6-8. Mark 13:5-8. Luke 21:8-9. Daniel 9:27)2. Great Tribulation
or Desolation Period:
Although Christians fear this time period, most do not understand
it or its purpose. The desolation is the next staging period
leading to the day of the LORD which is the day of God's wrath
against the earth. Many mistakenly identify the desolation period
as the time of the LORD's wrath against the earth. Although this
is a time of judgments upon the earth the LORD's wrath is primarily
focused on Israel via her enemies.
(Matthew 24:15-25. Mark 13:14-23. Luke 21:20-24. Revelation 7:9-14.)3. Day of the LORD:
This time period of one day is the day of the LORD's wrath against
the entire world. He will plunge this day into darkness. He will
resurrect all who have believed in Him, obeyed Him and have watched
for His coming. This is the day that the LORD Jesus takes His
kingdom away from Satan, his demons and their worldly allies
- by force and consuming fire. The scriptures refer to this day
as a cruel day and a day of great slaughter!
(Matthew 24:30-44. Mark 13:26-37. Luke 17:23-37, 21:27-36. John
6:39-40,44, 54, 11:23-26. Acts 2:20. 1 Thessalonians 4:13-5:4.
2 Thessalonians 1:6-10, 2:1-4. Hebrews 10:25. 2 Peter 3:10-13.)
4. Thousand Year Reign:
This period of time begins on the day of the LORD. Now we, who
believe and are faithful, will inherit the kingdom of God! Jesus
Christ will rule over the earth from His throne in the temple
in Jerusalem. He will reign as both king and high priest. The
world will finally live in peace.
(Revelation 20:6-7)
