Fake Peace to Real Peace

The following is a synopsis of the end-times in a short story format based on the prophecies of the Holy Scriptures. A measure of artistic liberty was necessary.

The Birth Pains

The birth pains that signal the beginning of the end actually start with peace in Israel. Through coalition building against a commonly perceived threat or enemy a new world order will emerge. As this new order evolves it will be abundantly clear to its leaders that to control the fomenting antagonism between the world's religions that is erupting into violence and terror there must be peace in the Middle East.
The world will increasingly view Israel as the source of the problem. Israel, after having endured many decades of war and violence, will not have the will to trust God for her survival. Fatigued from war, she will allow herself to be diplomatically brow-beaten into exchanging portions of her inheritance for peace with her enemies. A new nation called Palestine will form. The Palestinians will not be content with only a portion of the land that they feel belongs to them, but in order to establish legitimacy as a sovereign state they will make concessions to the powerful New Order. The many nations that had sympathized with the Palestinians will agree to enter a false peace with Israel.
It is out of these agreements that the antichrist will come to the front in world politics. He will help broker a final solution to the peace. He may be a leader within an alliance against Israel. Because of opposition from the New Order coalition he may change political strategies suddenly to make peace possible. The only sticking point with Israel will be Jerusalem and the Temple Mount. They will not release it to the Palestinians. The Palestinians will forgo this problem in order to establish their state, but will do so with the plan of achieving control of these areas in the future. The peace agreement is signed by all of Israel's enemies and is put into effect for a seven year probationary period. Israel, now at peace, will possibly build the Temple at this time without incurring the threats of her former enemies. It may even be a gift from the soon to be revealed antichrist. It is possible during this time that the antichrist will consolidate his power within his own alliance of ten nations by subduing three that oppose his rise to power.
It may be that the followers of Islam in North Africa will oppose him, forming an alliance with Egypt being the dominant power. The antichrist and the Egyptian alliance will war with each other.

The Tribulation (The Desolation)The antichrist will launch an offensive against the king of the south, but he will be turned back by a powerful navy from western coastal nations of the New Order. The enraged antichrist, his military campaign against the king of the south stopped, will vent his fury against Jerusalem. The antichrist will appear to be fatally wounded and then will astonish the world and Israel when he appears to come back to life. Being able to prove, either legitimately or not, to the priesthood of Israel that he has descended from the line of David he will be followed and worshiped by much of the world and hailed by many, even in Israel, as the Messiah. Because of his miraculous powers and those displayed through a false prophet that serves him, most people will be deceived and believe the lie that he is the Son of God. He will stop the daily sacrifices and present himself as God in the Temple.
Those leaders of Israel that side with him will be handsomely rewarded in lands and wealth. When he sets himself up as God war will break out in heaven. Satan, having received false glory as the Almighty from his son the antichrist, will be cast down to earth along with his legions of demons who side with him in the heavenly battle. This will occur three and a half years after the peace agreement has been signed and marks the beginning of the 1,290 day desolation period.
The LORD seals all of the Jews who stayed obedient to him and still look for the coming of their messiah. The believers in Jesus Christ who stay true are sealed already by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. These two groups are sealed by God so that His judgments will not harm them and His wrath will pass over them on the last day. Their tribulation will come at the hands of men.
Israel did not rise up to stop the antichrist, her leaders and priests even welcomed him as the messiah and it is due to all of her wickedness that God pours His wrath out upon Israel. She has forsaken the covenant with God. She has given away some of her inheritance. She has not seen the antichrist's defilement as an abomination, so now three and a half years of punishment for Israel begins, this is the time of her desolation.
Those true to God will resist the antichrist and many are put to the sword. Israel is plundered and many of those who are still alive are exiled to many nations. Those who remain in the land suffer under unbelievable drought, famine and plague. All that is valuable is carried away as plunder, Israel has been ravished, her young men killed and her women raped. Israel has become the scorn of the earth.
It is at the beginning of this time that two men appear and prophesy in Jerusalem. They prophesy every day and inflict death upon all who attempt to harm them by spewing forth fire from their mouths. They inflict the earth with plague, turn the water to blood and stop the rain from falling on the earth.The beast hates the New Order. It has stopped him from achieving what no one else had ever done in modern times, domination of the Middle East. The beast acts swiftly. The governing city of the New Order disappears in smoke and flame and along with her the leaders of the New Order. The world mourns such a great loss. The financial markets are in disarray, the world is on the verge of panic. The New Order is now the beast. He steps up and offers laurels of peace as the world swoons over his promises of security.
The world is in awe of the beast. They acknowledge him, serve him and even worship him. He adds kingdom after kingdom to his own and those who oppose him he wages war against and overcomes by Satan's power. It is now that the false prophet of the antichrist, who has performed many miracles on his behalf, imposes a number mark upon the people of the earth. Every person is required to take a mark on his forehead or hand that acknowledges allegiance to the beast as their king and God. Those who don't take the number are punished by the inability to buy or sell under this new world economic system. Many believers, deceived by the myth that their rapture would happen before the coming of the antichrist are unable to discern the times, signs or demonic deceptions. Some will fall away from the faith and take the number. These apostates will turn on those that stay true to the LORD, handing them over to imprisonment and death.

It has been several years now since the beast set himself up as the false messiah. The earth is parched and many cataclysmic events are unfolding. The believers who haven't been killed or imprisoned are in hiding or on the run. Swarms of demons have been released from the Abyss and are given power to torture all who have the number of the beast. Millions suffer from this demonic plague and still they do not repent from their wickedness. For five months this plague torments the earth. The antichrist increases his attacks upon believers and the world is galvanized in their collective delusion as they curse the name of God.
The king of the south makes a final desperate bid to overthrow the power of the antichrist. This time there is no fleet to stop the beast, for now he possesses the world's air and naval power and his ground forces can be counted in the tens of millions. He will sweep through many countries, and yet bring no harm to the nation of Jordan. Egypt will fall and her allies will submit to the beast. There is rejoicing worldwide. For three and a half years the two Jewish religious fanatics who pronounced curses upon the earth and were unstoppable are now dead and the world celebrates what appears to be the death of the Jewish faith.The Last DayPlague upon plague eats away at the earth and the sun scorches the earth. While in Egypt reports from Jerusalem send the beast into a rage. There is rebellion in Jerusalem! Apparently the Jews who are left have seized the city and the Temple. They have purified the Temple and are again offering sacrifices to Almighty God. The Jews are even exclaiming that their messiah is coming. There have been other reports about some angelic type of being coming down and proclaiming the gospel of Jesus Christ and it being the time of judgment.
The rebellion has lasted for 45 days. The beast is enraged! He assembles all of his commanders and they swarm their armies upon Israel from all parts of his kingdom. The sun goes dark, the moon blood red and the heavenly bodies are shaken. As the beast arrives with his staff, he gives orders to annihilate the city. Suddenly the LORD Jesus Christ appears in the sky and as He descends He is met by ascending believers in their new bodies as the world watches. Horrified, the inhabitants of the earth mourn and they desperately try to hide. A tremendous earthquake, like none that has ever been before, shakes the heavens and the earth as the Mount of Olives splits in two to the north and to the south and leaves a valley west to east. As the beast is led into an underground bunker the people of Jerusalem escape from the city through the valley created where the Mount of Olives split in two. The LORD, followed by the resurrected holy ones, enters Jerusalem and from the Temple He gives a great shout that slays his enemies with consuming fire. The earth is deluged by a great fire-storm and the great cities of the earth tumble to the ground. The valleys rise up while the mountains are made low. Jerusalem now sits prominently on the only mountain standing, Mount Zion! The Jews fight on that day as well. All is consumed by fire, except Jerusalem and Judah, as they unleash their nuclear weapons upon their enemies. Jesus now turns his attention to the Ben Hinnom valley, with a blast of the breath of His wrath He ignites it into a molten lake of fire. Sending His holy angels, the beast and the false prophet are torn from their hiding places and thrown alive into the lake of fire. Satan and his demons are captured by the angels and imprisoned in the Abyss. The Thousand Year ReignThe LORD beckons His people, the Jews, who fled through the valley from the antichrist, and calls them back into the city. They are mourning and wailing loudly for now they too understand who the Messiah is as they gaze upon His pierced hands. The LORD is now stirred to compassion for them and He binds their wounds. They are a sorry looking lot, most of their skin is branded, they are covered by sores and their hair is burned off. The LORD transforms these faithful ones who have looked for His coming into shining beauty. As the survivors of the world crawl out of their holes and hiding places, God pours out His Spirit on them.
The land of Israel begins to bloom and grow lush, much as the garden of Eden must have been like. A river gushes forth from the Temple, going both to the Dead Sea and the Mediterranean. The LORD begins to gather the remnant of Israel from her exile around the world. The survivors of the nations, because of fear and understanding of the LORD, do all they can to help God's people on their way. The people of Israel plunder the world as the peoples give them many gifts. They walk and ride in cars and fly in planes. The rivers are shallow or dried up so they can cross in sandals. There is a highway leading to the City of Truth, which is called the Way of Holiness, and only God's people can walk upon it.
The believers who have been resurrected and have come down with King Jesus are given an inheritance in the land as they are joined to Israel. No longer will Israel be called Israel. The LORD gives them a new name. The LORD becomes a wall of fire around Jerusalem and a cloud of smoke by day shades her while the glow of fire at night becomes her refuge. Now there is great rejoicing as the King of kings, the groom, gives a great wedding feast for the millions who are His bride. There you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David and all the loved ones who stood firm in their testimony of Jesus Christ. Outside will be wailing and gnashing of teeth and the stench of rotting corpses. It will be a gruesome site, because the LORD will allow them to lay exposed for seven months as the birds and wild animals pick their bones clean. Only after seven months will King Jesus allow the bones to be gathered and buried in the Valley of Hamon Gog. It will require another seven months to cleanse the land of them.
The LORD Jesus will reign supreme over the world and govern through His people. There will be no more war or sickness or tears or sorrow or death for His people. The animals of the earth will also be at peace, the lion will lie down with the lamb. The nations will stream to Jerusalem to pay tribute to King/Priest Jesus on His throne in the Temple. Any nation that does not pay tribute will have its rain withheld. This is how the one thousand year reign of Jesus Christ will begin.
