Your question:

Could you please tell me how you believe about being saved? Baptism, holy ghost?

 My answer:

Hi,
Thanks for the e-mail.

You said: Could you please tell me how you believe about being saved? Baptism, holy ghost?

My response: The Bible teaches that one must be born-again. This is done when a person confesses with his tongue that Jesus is LORD and believes in his heart that God raised him from the dead. A person comes to this point by humbling themself before God and truly repenting of their wickedness. Once this is done a person is sanctified, that is, they are set apart as holy by the Holy Spirit or in other words marked as God's by the Holy Spirit. This indwelling by the Spirit is a deposit on our salvation. By faith in Jesus Christ the person lives their life. Their faith will be tested in life. True faith will produce obedience to God that does not waiver. The greatest command to obey is to love each other. If a person falls back into sin and stays there this is called deliberate sin and disqualifies a person from the first resurrection into the kingdom unless they repent. A true believer is one who pursues an intimate relationship with God daily and will be found by their savior watching for his return. The faithful servant will be resurrected into an immortal body and dwell with the LORD forever on earth. We are not saved until Jesus comes back to redeem those who remained faithful. He will save them from God's wrath.

When one believes and is born-again they are to be baptized in water. This baptism is a public display of identitifying with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. It is not a requirement but is consider biblically to be very important to one beginning a true walk of faith.

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is one that comes to a true new believer. It does not require one to speak in tongues, but may manifest itself this way or in one or several of the other gifts of the Spirit. For some this is an 'explosive' event while for others it is a very quiet and even solemn and personal event. In all cases it is the work of the Spirit of God as He is received by the believer.

I pray that I have served you well.

In the service of the LORD Jesus,

Randy
