Your question:

Hi!

I am interested to see what you think about cremation. I cannot find anything in the Bible that would indicate that there is anything wrong with it. I need to know what you think. When one considers that the some of the saints were eaten by lions, etc., I would think it does not matter what happens to the physical body after death.

Thanks so much! Appreciate your news letter!
E.

 My answer:

Hi E.,
Great to hear from you again! Thanks for the encouragement about the newsletter.
The following is my response to a similar question sent by someone else.

They said: I would like to hear your take on the people who have been cremated
when the rapture comes.

My response: I would like to start my answer by looking at the all-sufficiency of God Most High. I normally do not answer questions with questions, please forgive this exception. Is there no place in the kingdom for those saints who met death by being incinerated in lets say for example an airplane crash? Scripture is pretty clear that we will exchange the mortal for the immortal and I find no exception clauses in scripture on this. Can God raise the dead from ashes? Why not? He will raise them from dust won't He? And from watery graves where their bodies served as fish food. All who have not been raised in the first resurrection will certainly be raised in the second, cremated or not.

They said: Also , is cremation accepted by Christ ?

My response: I have found nothing in the scriptures that say don't. I believe cremation is irrelevant in the light of a resurrection of the dead. If you have any verses that trouble you in relation to what I have answered then please pass them onto me and we'll look them over. Christians over the centuries have experienced every kind of death including burning at the stake (including Polycarp one of the great early church fathers). Whether a body's incineration causes death or it is incinerated after death makes no difference in the resurrection of those who belong to Jesus Christ, we belong to the first resurrection. I hope this helps let me know.

I hope this helps if not let me know.

In the service of LORD Jesus,

Randy
